Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by Western blotting. For Western blotting, the suggested use of this reagent is 1.0 - 10 ?g per ml.?For immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue, a concentration range of 0.1 - 1.0 ?g/ml is suggested. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Antigen Details
- Structure
- Human Galectin-2 is a 132 amino acid protein with a molecular mass of ~15 kD.
- Distribution
-
Tissue distribution: Highly expressed in gastrointestinal tract, and to lesser extent in the immune system, kidney, and brain.
Cellular distribution: Cytosol.
- Function
- Galectin-2 his involved in immune cell homeostasis, inflammation, cell adhesion and protein trafficking. The protein levels of Galectin-2, and also other Galectin proteins, are significantly increased in colon and breast cancer patients, promoting cancer cell adhesion.
- Interaction
- Interactions: Glycans
Cellular targets: Interferon-γ (IFN-γ) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) - Ligand/Receptor
- CD14, Toll-like receptor (TLR)-4 pathway, glycoconjugates
